For almost a year, theatre auditoriums have remained empty due the impact of Covid-19. Performers now find themselves jobless, but with a burning desire to return to stage.

Professional ballet dancer Jasmine Wallis was set to tour with The Phantom of the Opera in 2020. But this came to an abrupt end. She misses the buzz of performing and says nothing in her normal life “can fill that gap”.

Ballet teacher Annette Potter and dancer Jimmy Parratt have also experienced substantial changes within their roles . Working from home is “very difficult” due to the physical nature of their job.

Now, more than ever, it is important to help save the arts by making donations to theatres “if and where possible”.
