The elderly have always been an ‘at risk’ group during the COVID-19 lockdown periods. They were one of the first groups to have the vaccine rolled out to them and the first age group to be offered the inoculation.

Unfortunately the infection rate and the death rate from COVID-19 were higher than average amongst the elderly. So it could be posited that if there was any residual effect of COVID-19, the elderly would feel the brunt of it.

But the question remains; how has COVID-19 affected the elderly in 2023? With the new year just starting, I went to find out if COVID-19 still plays a part in pensioners lives.
