Over recent years our economy has been hit by Covid-19 and now the cost-of-living crisis. Everyone has felt the impact of these in some way. During Covid-19 we went into a lockdown which put a halt to businesses, stopping an income for many. Now we are seeing another tough period as the cost of living has risen to a new high. For many wages simply don’t match the cost of living these days. With excess income being limited, how has this impacted industry’s that thrive on people seeing their service as a luxury. We spoke to Chloe, a beauty business owner who is self-employed and offers these luxury services. We asked how Covid-19 and the cost-of-living crisis have affected her business and what she’s done to get through these tough times.
