During the global health crises, people have managed to find creative ways of binding their time during periods of lockdowns.

One man from Portsmouth has chosen to spend his days in lockdown Britain to dig into his family’s strong ties with the military.

Simon Tilley, 27, from Portsmouth, discovered he has two great-great-uncle’s who both served in the British Army during the First World War.

He said: “Rather than just sitting at home and feeling sorry for myself, with me having a keen interest in history and so on, I thought why don’t we try and find if there is any military background relating to the family?”.
