The UK economy is no stranger to difficult periods such as the cost of living crisis more recently, where the crisis has led to prices such as food, rent and fuel greatly increasing as a result of inflation.

This has led to a decline in those willing to volunteer for charity and also to their priorities changing in this difficult period, as it is hard to cater for the underprivileged when it is already demanding to support yourself.

From discussing with Esme, a Revitalise worker, she provided a better insight into the current reality of volunteering in charity and even overall as it is an uncomfortable position to be working in from the current conditions.
