Mindfulness is a way of living in the present moment where you are aware of what you are doing and feeling. It has been shown to improve mental health and can be used to reduce stress, anxiety, and depression.

The most fundamental method of mindful breathing is to simply focus your attention on your breath, the inhale and exhale. You can do this while standing, but it’s best if you’re seated or lying down in a comfortable posture. You can keep your eyes open or closed, although closing your eyes may help you focus better.

Setting out a certain time for this exercise might be beneficial, but it can also be beneficial to perform it when you’re feeling particularly worried or nervous. Experts believe that practicing mindful breathing on a daily basis might make it simpler to do so under stressful situations.

Sometimes, especially when attempting to relax in a stressful situation, taking an exaggerated breath might help:

  1. a deep intake through your nose (3 seconds),
  2. a breath-hold (2 seconds),
