At the Global Inclusive Blockchain Conference held on April 17th, 2018 in Singapore, a major highlight was the announcement by SmartMesh about their decision to make SmartRaiden open-source technology.

SmartRaiden is an application developed by SmartMesh based on the well-known Raiden Network but optimized and written in Golang for better scalability. Using SmartRaiden, anyone can implement decentralized mobile phone payment transaction technology that is fast, secure and low-cost. SmartRaiden can be used not only on iOS and Android, but also on all the major computing operating systems including Mac、Windows, and Linux.

SmartMesh CEO Henry Wang and RSK CEO Diego Gutierrez Zaldivar

The greatest challenge that Mesh network projects face is to harness the enthusiasm of users. SmartRaiden extends the functionality of traditional Raiden Network technology allowing intermediate nodes to receive proportional rewards for services such as lending bandwidth to the mesh. This incentive mechanism can significantly improve users’ motivation to act as intermediate nodes so that a more robust network can be established and facilitate indirect payments. As one of SmartMesh’s key technologies, SmartRaiden will be deployed at first on Spectrum (the SmartMesh public chain), and afterwards on the Ethereum main network.

SmartMesh founder Henry Wang, told us that more and more high-quality projects will be willing to be deployed on Spectrum as SmartRaiden becomes open source, which will be a major breakthrough for global blockchain and networking ecology.

The establishment of the Universal Connectivity and Consensus Organization (UCCO) was another conference highlight. In order to accelerate the construction of next-generation network infrastructure to meet the upcoming blockchain IoT era, members of the UCCO including SmartMesh, MeshBox, RSK, Dcntral, Mesh++, Stealth Grid, and MATRIX will make joint efforts to usher in a new era of IoE to the world. RSK and SmartMesh have both garnered attention recently as two dark horses in the blockchain field.

The Global Inclusive Blockchain Conference

By providing efficient, affordable communications, renewable energy, and artificial- intelligence- based control systems, all supported by blockchain financial technology, a majority of sustainable development goals can be addressed. The scope of the UCCO is as follows:

1. Universal: Inclusive of all peoples, from all classes, rich or poor, from all countries, even including future colonies on other planets.

2. Connectivity: People, smart devices, and objects are being connected in new ways. New standards for licensed and unlicensed spectrum (WIFI, Bluetooth, Microwave, Visible Light Communication [LIFI, Laser]), etc. are needed because the current standards are not optimized for peer to peer connectivity. New standards will have a wide impact on communication protocols, security, and SoCs.

3. Consensus: The Exchange of value (currency, data, goods, energy, services, and QoS) between people and machines is facilitated by the IoV Infrastructure and cryptocurrencies. Distributed systems consisting of thousands and millions of entities must be fault tolerant and resilient in the face of hacking malware, denial of service attacks, and spam bots.

The Global Inclusive Blockchain Conference

Blockchain technology is still in its youth and therefore the industry has a tendency towards chaos. In light of this it is auspicious and greatly beneficial that the Chinese Government has been working with the industry as a whole to tackle issues as they arise. As relevant laws and regulations are established, more and more reckless and fraudulent acts are being punished. We believe that blockchain projects of real value like SmartMesh will reap the rewards of opportunities in the near future. On March 12th, 2018, Dcntral.ai announced a partnership with the SmartMesh Foundation and on April 13th, 2018, internationally renowned blockchain expert Professor Lee Kuo Chuen joined SmartMesh as a consultant. On April 17th, 2018, SmartMesh as well as MeshBox, RSK, Dcntral, Mesh++, Stealth Grid and MATRIX all joined the UCCO. All the indicators now are pointing to the SmartMesh team maximizing their efforts to combine their projects with blockchain technology give the blockchain industry as a whole a major boost. A new era is dawning and we believe the SmartMesh ecosystem will carry the day.
