A little over a week ago we reported that Apple would soon be selling the iPhone without signing a contract. Today, our report turned out to be true and Apple has begun selling the iPhone without requiring the customer to sign a two-year contract. The 8GB iPhone goes for $599 and the 16GB iPhone goes for $699, assuming you do not want to sign a contract. Customers who do this option do not need to activate the phone in-store, so they can do in-home activation. Customers are also only allowed one iPhone at full price per line.
