Apple COO confirms new iPhone and new carriers coming this Summer

Earlier today Apple had a live earnings call to reveal its fantastic results. During the call Tim Cook, Apple’s COO, referenced a new iPhone coming this summer and”new distribution points, meaning additional carriers and new countries”. It is unclear if it is new carriers in the United States, but our hope has risen. Check out the full quote after the jump.
The things that we do to drive overall iPhone demand is focused on product innovation. And that’s software, that hopefully you saw with the preview that we gave of the new iPhone release that will be coming this summer. It’s new hardware and new products. It’s new distribution points. It’s additional carriers and geographic expansion, which we’ll continue to do.
