Everyone knows that Palm needed to redeem itself with a big OS update. Today during the Palm keynote at CES, it announced a new platform and phone. Palm’s new phone, that will be exclusive to Sprint at first, will be called the Palm Pre. The Pre features EV-DO Rev. A, 802.11b/g, 8GB storage, GPS, Bluetooth stereo (A2DP), and TI’s latest processor. It has a 3.1-inch, 320 x 480, multi-touch display that extends below the gesture area letting you make motions to control the phone. The Pre slides up to reveal a full QWERTY keyboard that looks very comfortable to use. To multi-task the phone uses “synergy” which looks like a deck of cards that you can swipe through. The web browser looks like great from what we saw and seems to render the page readable and similar to a computer would. The calendar, which Palm is know for, is great and looks very easy to read and manage. From what we can see this is going to truely be an amazing phone.
