Erica “ET” Taylor made a short film that screened at the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego. The film, Coming Home was part of the selection of shorts for The Rookie Award category. Erica and her team flew to San Diego from Houston, Texas to take part in the festival.

Coming Home, a short film by Erica “ET” Taylor premiered during IMFF 2023.

Shellsy Malveaux, the protagonist in their film “Coming Home,” and Carla Lyles made a big impression to all attendees at the festival. This was their first film festival experience.

Erica is a visual storyteller from Houston, TX. She is the founder of Rebel Moon Creative, LLC — a production company that helps small businesses, entrepreneurs, artists, and organizations connect their brand’s story with their community through visual storytelling. She’s also instructed video production while earning her master’s degree.

The story for her film has a multi-dimensional message. The synopsis for “Coming Home”: A visual representation of a Black woman’s attempt to recenter her internal being from the pressures of worldly perspectives.

Erica, Shellsy and Carla shared their perspectives of the films they watched at our film festival with a message for attending and non-attending filmmakers.

Their attendance at the festival inspired them and they began filming content for their next project before going back home to Houston, Texas.
