The Smart Cube acquired by WNS
--
Today, we are delighted to announce that The Smart Cube, a leader in platform-driven research and analytics, has been acquired by WNS, a leading provider of global business procurement management solutions, for $125 million. The Smart Cube is complementary to WNS’s existing offerings, and the acquisition will help strengthen the company’s capabilities in high-end procurement and advanced analytics.
Founded in 2003, The Smart Cube provides digitally led market intelligence and analytics solutions. The company’s offerings span four key areas including procurement and supply chain, commercial sales, marketing, digital and analytics, and strategy and investment research. The Smart Cube leverages their proprietary digital AI knowledge management platform called “Amplifi Pro” to help clients drive improved procurement and market intelligence and insight-based decision making. They also bring strong front-end advisory capabilities and a large European footprint to the WNS portfolio.
Smedvig partnered with The Smart Cube in 2011 after the team were impressed by the vision of building a value-add, high end offshoring capability with a strong technology backbone. Over the last 11 years we have watched the company grow from a small business to a successful scaleup and have worked closely with the team to help position The Smart Cube as the trusted partner for high performance intelligence. We were front and centre of the strategic thinking behind the pivot to product led services as well as helping navigate the business through multiple global demand shifts. This long and successful partnership has been incredibly rewarding for the Smedvig Team and we wish Gautam and the rest of the company all the best in the next stage of their growth journey.
Gautam Singh, CEO of The Smart Cube, commented: ‘Working with the Smedvig team has added significant value to The Smart Cube business. They truly partnered with us diving into the detail when I wanted them to and supporting from the board when I needed them to. They have helped me on everything from strategy to product, continually focussing on getting the best possible outcome for all stakeholders.’
Jon Lerner, Partner at Smedvig Capital, added: ‘It has been a pleasure being part of The Smart Cube board watching it grow from a highly successful start-up to a proper scale up whilst continually adapting its business model over the years to make sure the product market fit stayed completely aligned with the changing needs of its clients. I’ve really enjoyed watching Gautam’s journey from entrepreneur to seasoned CEO and wish him and the business every success under their new ownership.’
