Hello, my dear reader! We did it! Finally, Russian inventors and engineers have created something really incredible and worthy.

Let’s forget about YotaPhones and Lada Kalina cars: the first step is always the hardest; that’s okay!

So far, so good

Russian inventors have designed the world’s first flying hoverbike!

HoverSurf, a Russia-based company designing and assembling hoverbikes, or flying motorbikes, has developed a truly steep hover vehicle called HoverBike 3 Scorpion.

In fact, Scorpion is a hybrid of quadcopter and motorcycle based on four powerful electric engines and controlled using two convenient joysticks or remotely via a control panel.

According to its technical features, HoverBike S3 weighs 115 kg, with the battery weighing 50 kg. Currently, the flight altitude is limited to ten meters, while the maximum speed is a bit more than 80 kilometers per hour.

A single battery charging is enough for a 30-minute flight. A complete recharging requires four hours. The hoverbike will cost about 125,000 USD depending on its specifications; a conditioner and car stereo are paid separately:)

Hardly had developers presented such a marvel of engineering than they received an order for several dozens of hoverbikes. Well, who do you think have ordered them and why?

Okey dokey, I won’t harass you, my dear friend. The first batch of flying bikes will go to Dubai. Moreover, they will be used by the poshest cops in the world. Why not? They are already fed up with Buggatti…

According to Brigadier Khaled Nasser Al-Razooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, HoverBikes will allow to respond to calls and get to hard-to-reach places much faster. He also adds that these vehicles will be used extensively by 2020.

As of today, the UAE’s largest city has two teams of patrol officers who have completed piloting training and are ready to fulfil their duties on Scorpions. One is going to establish a comprehensive department of “flying cavalry” in the near future.

A fly in the ointment: Some independent experts believe that similar vehicles in the police service is nothing but farce, as well as expensive cars making Dubai’s police officers world famous. They assert that hoverbikes have a quite limited capacity: first off, it refers to a poor battery service time and a relatively low speed in comparison with their conventional cars or motorcycles.

Positive point: At the same time, developers have grinningly commented on this statement and promised to right the ship next year due to new materials used in batteries such as graphene.

The company is going to organize manufacturing in several countries at the same time. One of them is the UAE and directly Dubai. It is also planning to issue a two-passenger model. This novelty will be presented in coming four-five months and sold in 2020.

Excuse me, FEDOR robot, but since then HoverBike 3 Scorpion is a top invention for me. Moreover, I’m so proud that it is Russian-made, and let’s turn a blind eye to the foreign market for a while. By the way, its name sounds really great and unusual.
