Smilo update — Tech Night & Exclusive Monaco
In this Smilo update we are happy to announce our cooperation for the upcoming ‘Tech Night’, hosted by our partner 42 in collaboration with Datafluisteraar. This event will take place in the Dutch Innovation Factory in Zoetermeer, the 4th of September. Besides this meet up, we also have exciting news regarding our attendance of last week’s exclusive blockchain investors event in Monaco.
Tech Night
The theme of this Tech Night will be blockchain, and as we’re building a blockchain platform, we have sufficient knowledge to educate the audience.
After the opening introduction by 42, the floor will be given to Steven Gort of ICTU, the IT Innovation Agency of the Dutch government.
ICTU is working on an improved digital government
Together with their clients they achieve high quality digital services. They connect knowledge to skill and solutions to problems, whilst observing the balance between technology and use, and innovation and workable solutions. So that any business conducted with the government, by either an individual or a company is done safely, easily and digitally.
As independent consultant and executor within the government, they look for the right combination of expertise for every assignment so that both the government and society benefits.
Steven will start the Technight with the role and position of distributed technologies like blockchain for the government.
The next presentation will be given by our own CEO & CTO Elkan Roelen, which will primarily be about the Smilo platform, its unique features and our mission and vision of the future.
Elkan will not be the only Smilo member giving a presentation about blockchain and in which ways our platform will be providing the solution on the issues of today. Two of our valued temporary Java developers, Kelly Robles de Medina and Robert Alblas provided by 42 itself, will elaborate on what it takes to become a blockchain developer and how working on a blockchain core, with special regards to the Smilo Platform, differs from working on the backend of a website.

Exclusive blockchain investors event Monaco
The exclusive, invite only, blockchain investors event, held in Monaco at Nikkibeach, was a great success. Not only was Smilo received with great enthusiasm, we also made a lot of valuable contacts. One these contacts is none other than Eyal Shalev, a leading voice of the online crypto community and one of the initiative takers of bitcoin Private.
He has over 15 years of experience in business development, project management and software and hardware architecture in a variety of technological areas. In recent years he has carved out for himself a place at the fore of the crypto and blockchain sector. He is involved in a number of big blockchain projects and ICOs, acting as a consultant and advisor. These include several cryptocurrencies that he has helped push into the top 100 today.
We’re looking forward to cooperate with our newly acquired contacts and hope to inform you on more collaboration’s in the near future!
