Some say that the best things in life get better with age. Well, Cherokee County makes it easy for you to test this theory out yourself. With five different and unique wineries, you can soak in all of the local wine until you can no longer taste the difference! Cherokee Cellars Winery boasts some of the most delicate flavors in wine. Stop in for a tasting in this restored 1940s bus station in downtown Murphy, and check out some local art at the art gallery while you’re at it.

Or, visit the largest winery in the county, Nottely Wine, which has the largest crop of Vitis Vinifera grapes in the region. If you’re looking for a little more excitement, though, Calaboose Cellars over in Andrews will make you feel a little bit like an outlaw. Located in the town’s oldest jail, the site of this small, funky winery adds a little thrill to their wine tasting experience. FernCrest Winery and Valley River Vineyards are two other great options nearby as well. Why not visit them all?
