1. Art Under the Katy Trail

Due to quarantine, the usually packed streets of Uptown are now deserted leaving space for DFW-based artists to create new art installations without the distraction of cars or pedestrians.

2. Only the Essential

Fedex delivery trucks are among the only vehicles that roam the streets, as most people have resorted to online shopping since most retail stores remain closed.

3. A Ghost Town

Pre-COVID-19, McKinney Avenue would have been flooded with traffic and shoppers. This shot was taken around 4 p.m. on a weekday and tells a whole different story.

4. Sunbathing and Social Distancing

The start of May has brought sunnier days and warmer weather as people enjoy the greenery of Turtle Creek Park — safely — feet apart from each other.

5. The Struggle of Small Businesses

The Dallas-based and independently owned Nicole Kwon Concept Store, loved by local fashion fanatics, has closed temporarily and removed all its merchandise and furniture.

6. The Re-Opening

The state of Texas is opening businesses in phases. Phase 1, which began Thursday April 30th, allowed restaurants to open up to a 25% capacity. It seems although Dallas locals couldn’t stay away from Mi Cocina for much too long.
