How can I write a good SOP for MS in marketing?

The key to writing a good SOP — is to keep in mind to make it an interesting read for anyone while you describe your life in sync with the kind of course you want to pursue. The standard rules of essay writing where a catchy intro, an impressive conclusion and a hook paragraph or thought in the body — definitely apply.

Marketing case studies you have done or followed .. good articles that you have read regarding innovative marketing strategies are a good add to the SOP.

One must always realise not to use generic sentences like “An MS in Marketing would give me an edge in my career and no better place to pursue it, than your prestigious campus.” One must also avoid using descriptive information about your field of study (marketing in this case) — eg. — Marketing of a product or a service is as integral as the quality of the product and business strategy of the company. Don’t delve on what marketing is / what you understand by the term — instead delve on how your background and ethnic culture has helped you understand mass and niche psychology and hence strategy for a product to be marketed in any target group, that first begins with understanding the target group — comes naturally to you.

One must also keep in mind that details about any previous job experience must be highlighted with achievements and moments of success during the same — not just plainly mention details about it. One has to spell out all the details and not sound like a news bulletin. Iv done this and Iv pursued that makes a boring read- intertwine it with your inspiration (in form of quotes and instances from your life).
