If you are about to give boards or in lower grade classes you may get excited when one says there would be no boards from now on. I can’t blame you for thinking this way, it is all the hype about board exams that puts a burden on the students. So, for you all out there who think board exams should not be there I am writing this article and I have written an article preceding this about the same problem.

In my first article “What if there were no board exams?” I mentioned the pros of not having board exams but the question arises, how can students be evaluated academically if there are no board exams? The main motive is to fit the compatibility of all other geniuses and help the children increase productivity by making them participate in self-improvement activities in contrast to having board exams where students would usually be consumed in preparing for the exams. So, it’s important to consider all of the aspects of academics but without burning off the students this can somewhat be achieved by not only one testing but a series of tests conducted in a period of 24 days which is 4 days for each subject, in these 4 days students would not be preparing for a single exam of each subject whereas in the period of these 4 days the students will be committed to a subject completing activities that cover each chapter in 2 days. This would help the students achieve a greater understanding of the topic and already be prepared for an exam of the subject, then a forty-mark exam would be conducted internally which would be the in-depth questions of the same topics they do in activities. By this, we can understand the academic capability of the student as well as not asking the student to learn everything they had done from the starting of the year in just a small number of days. To further improve this, we can cut down the syllabus to half and conduct two main exams both following the same pattern of examination as mentioned above, improving the cut down in the burden of the students. I am pretty sure that by using this method of examination a student can be evaluated academically and also not be stressed about studies, I am not saying that it’s a definite solution to the most problematic barrier in today’s modern schooling system but a solution for sure. Everybody has opinions and I am presenting to you my own opinion about the problem I can clearly see and visualize from the perspective of a tenth grader. I would encourage everyone to keep putting forward their own opinions and till someone does something about this problem, I guess you should go on studying.
