🍕 Prestige Pizza

Prestige Pizza is “the best pizza” according to your snobbiest food friend. (I don’t mean snobby in a bad way, I love my snobby food friends!) Only 4% of all pizza is “Prestige” and here are some examples.

I live in Portland, OR and the following are all Prestige:

• Apizza Scholl’s
• Ken’s Pizza
• Lovely’s Fifty Fifty

And I might include:

• Dove Vivi
• Oven and Shaker

Spending the summer in New York and knowing this is Pizza Valhalla I looked over the various pizza articles on ny.eater.com and the following are likely Prestige:

• Emily’s
• Milkflower
• Pasquale Jones
• Co.

To find Prestige Pizza find a pizza expert. You can’t use Yelp because Yelp is full of regular people who eat Domino’s and that disqualifies their opinion. (I eat Domino’s and therefore I am disqualified too.)

A pizza expert will be writing for a site like Eater, Serious Eats, or maybe a blog of their own like I Dream of Pizza or the defunct Slice Harvester. If you are in New York you can hire a pizza guide.

The search for Prestige Pizza will sometimes result in failure, but that will still probably be Good Pizza on the Pyramid of Pizza Quality.
