I am not a Winter person. I love my garden, and those of my various clients. Spring, Summer and Fall are my favorite seasons.

I try to ensure that there is colour from Spring until Fall.

As the dry, hot days of August arrive, many of the perennials are starting to look shabby. The Perennial Hibiscus is a welcome addition to the garden since it begins to flower in August.

As the shorter days come our way, much of the colour leaves the garden. I like the ornamental grasses since they provide visual interest and annual baskets can be used for the colour.

“A garden is a lovesome thing, God wot!
Rose plot,
Fringed pool,
Ferned grot —
The veriest school
Of peace”
