A Hummingbird’s Flight

The ghost town of St. Elmo is something of a paradise for hummingbirds. They come in dozens, hovering in clouds around the numerous feeders until the air buzzes with the sound of their beating wings.

Hummingbirds are not easy to photograph, but when there are hundreds of them around, it’s hard not to get at least a few decent shots. The pinnacle is getting a capture of one mid-hover. I’ve never managed to master it. Cheers to anyone with the will and the skill to do it better than me.
