Adventures in Rock Island!
The day definitely didn’t go as planned, but it was memorable regardless.
One of my closest friends here in Tennessee has a list of the most popular waterfalls to visit within a few hours of where we live, and Rock Island was on the list a couple summers ago.
The main parking lot took us to this gorgeous spot overlooking the falls, and we were trying to sort out the best way to get to them. There was a trail that most people were following, but we couldn’t see where it led to the spot we wanted to visit, and we didn’t want to be in a section that was super crowded. We agreed to try to find a different way to the falls from further down, and it was an equally wonderful and awful choice.
