Can a car park be extremely beautiful? Can something as mundane as a parking lot ensure an immersive viewing experience?
Well, the answer is a definite affirmative, at least in this case. The entrance of the parking garage of Drentsmuseum (the Drents Museum) in the Dutch city of Assen is one of the most beautiful car parks that you can imagine.
The capital of the province of Drenthe, in the northeastern part of the Netherlands, is an impressive amalgamation of an abundance of greenery and beautiful architecture.
Many of the city’s buildings have a lot of history, and there are quite a few listed as a rijksmonument, a status accrued to a national heritage site in the Netherlands. The iconic Drentsmuseum is Assen’s most important landmark. While you will need to visit the museum to appreciate its many displays, some appreciation for this photo essay will be much appreciated.
