Flowers with Wings

Fourteen fluttering photos

I don’t know where I first read the worlds “flowers with wings” to describe butterflies, but I think it was in a nature magazine many years ago. The association is perfect — where do you usually find them? On the most colorful flowers, of course. And they show off an equally grand gamut of colors when they take to fluttering flight. (I love alliteration)
