Fortunate, Not to Miss the Meikermis

The fun fair resumed in the Dutch city of Groningen this year, and I did not let slip the opportunity to capture a few stunning visuals

The Meikermis returned to Groningen this year, from May 9th until May 20th, 2024, and I was fortunate to visit the city on the last two days of the fun fair.

The extravaganza, held annually in the month of May from around noon to midnight, is evenly spread across the city center, over the Grote Markt (Large Market), Vismarkt (Fish Market), and also the Ossenmarkt.

The 10-day affair has been a fun outing in the spring for years. It makes for a fantastic party in the northern part of the Netherlands and is marketed as the largest fair in the region.

Meikermis offers a gamut of rides at very competitive prices. Even as the kids were enjoying themselves and shrieking out loud, the adults were also having fun by opting for a spin.
