Breakfast

There is no way I could hope to rival Alto’s gorgeous breakfast photo, but here is my effort for the Breakfast challenge.

This was a treat for Sunday morning. Usually we have eggs, toast, jam, cereal and fruit and juice for breakfast. However after I saw the Breakfast challenge, I saw this delightful loaf of Challah bread (at the bakery) which would be perfect for French Toast.

I sliced it up, ready for dipping in the eggs, cinnamon and sugar mixture.

While the bread slices sat in the egg mixture, I heated up a large frying pan, and added a big pat of Olivina (my butter substitute) and when it was smoking, placed the dripping slices in the pan.

When it became golden brown on both sides, I served it, added some Blueberries and set it on the table near the pre-warmed Maple Syrup.
