Part of a worldwide movement inspired by a teenager, Sacramento becomes one of many areas of activism for the entire planet.

About a thousand had gathered at the West Steps of the Capitol State Museum, in Downtown Sacramento, for an act of striking to push stricter regulations towards climate change Friday noon.

The movement comes in regards to the efforts of Greta Thunberg, a 16-year-old Swedish teen who made a name for herself in fighting for the same regulations.

Friday’s climate movement was organized by 13-year-old Sacramento native Supriya Patel. Patel is the founder of Fridays For Future Sacramento, a youth climate activism organization inspired by the work of Thunberg.
