Recently, our cat, Gandalf the Grey, has not been feeling well. In addition to having chronic Pancreatitis which flares up randomly, it seems that he has a kidney infection.

After a battery of blood and urine tests this week, our vet found a suitable antibiotic and started him on it.

Up until today, he had been lying curled up in a ball, with his back to the room, and looking very uncomfortable. He had been less and less interested in food, and had been throwing up.

Today, it looks like the antibiotic may have finally begun to work, since he has perked up quite a lot. He has even resumed his obsessive Russian Blue cleaning activities. (Russian Blues have double coats, and clean even more than normal cats.)

He has also begun to show a much more lively interest in food, and has not thrown up since the vet gave him the antibiotic.

For the first time in several weeks, today I found him lying in a fairly relaxed position, leg flung up casually, as shown in the first photo.
