Gardening New Life
Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue
This month’s Snapshots Mini Challenge is “Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue.” I have captured this image from my garden to represent all four of these categories.
My grandfather has always been an incredible and passionate gardener. So was my great-grandfather. In fact, when my great-grandfather passed, flower seed packets were handed out at his funeral, and everyone was encouraged to plant the seeds in his memory. Both of these men instilled in me an incredible love for gardening.
Here is the breakdown for this photo:
Something Old: The old tomato cages and metal stakes that I use every year to nurture my plants as well as the gardening knowledge that has been passed down through the generations.
Something New: The new life that is blooming with this young plant.
Something Borrowed: The time that I spent with my great-grandfather and that I still spend with my grandfather. The same time that grew my desire for gardening.
Something Blue: The blue carton that is used to help keep the birds from robbing my plant as they build their new nest. One of the many tips I have picked up along the way.
