I chose Ghana as a destination in 2014 as they were advertised as the friendliest nation on Earth. I’d sign that after my trip, but the country gave me so much more.

The yellow in the flag doesn’t stand for happiness but wealth in minerals being more gold than yellow, but it is still a shining color to be seen from afar.

"I decided on the three colors of red, gold & green because of the geography of Ghana. Ghana lies in the tropics and blessed with rich vegetation. The color Gold was influenced by the mineral rich nature of our lands and Red commemorates those who died or worked for the country’s independence. Then the five-pointed lone star which is the symbol of African emancipation and unity in the struggle against colonialism." - Designer: Mrs. Theodosia Salome Okoh

Ghana might not be as rich in wildlife as its counterparts on the eastern side of the continent. At least not in the big game, but if you have eyes for the small animals such as insects, birds and all things crawling, you’ll be amazed.
