I am not a morning person

Oh there are times I wish I was a morning person, but alas, that is not in my DNA. I prefer sunsets to sunrises. I’d rather sleep until 8 am every morning and ever so slowly greet the day.

Woodland sunflowers

I know I miss the early morning mists, foggy spiderwebs cling to the tree branches or the silence when the morning breaks. I just can’t make myself get out of my comfortable warm bed.

I prefer the dark of night

in the company of owls

when the spiders whisper

and I can hear my heart
