In The Orchard

Crisp air for a crisp apple.

Yes, I must join the fall bandwagon. The end of summer is always a sigh of relief for me, I look forward to snuggling in sweaters, carving pumpkins, and whatever other generic autumn activity there is to engage in. We associate this time with dying in terms of trees shedding their leaves, everything getting a little paler out, and tumultuous transition. However, the harvest we reap during fall shows us there is an abundance to be found. Let’s celebrate this abundance and go apple picking!

Isaac Newton could never! Even having fallen on the ground apples still pattern the place in earthy vibrancy. Their familial clusters overflow each row proving this season has so much to give if you’d take a look below just as much as we do above toward the trees.

It’s easy to find yourself merrily rolling along every path the orchard affords you. Sometimes you hit a patch that’s not particularly full or it’s even rotten, but somehow in the fall, this is part of the charm. Perhaps it’s Halloween’s influence, but everything crooked, off, or slightly askew has a home within these months. Peering down the leafy continuum of apples is almost like being caught in a simple yet delightful vortex of autumnal splendor.

The foliage this time of year is certainly a wonder to behold, and I most likely will be positing some of those as well, but there is so much more on offer here. Traipsing through an orchard is a modest way of finding joy in nature while also being thankful for the supply she provides. If you’re looking to get some fresh air, while also finding filling to make a kick-ass pie, the orchard is calling. Happy harvesting!
