Please forgive the alliteration. My excuse is I woke up after a bad night (when you are almost 85 they often tend to be bad ). I walked out onto the north terrace to celebrate having awakened alive, and I was surprised by a magical light in the sky that made everything glow — including my spirit!

I dashed inside and grabbed my iPhone (no time to find my camera), then rushed outside to capture images before the special light and my delight faded.

An early morning glow is a common occurrence most everywhere. Photographers call it the magic hour. However, where the sun appears depends on the week and the month. In the tropics, the changes are minimal. But any shift affects where the light will fall.

I am an octogenarian and humanist hanging on to my passions in difficult times: I do not read. listen to, watch, or discuss politics. So, I am sort of sane.
