Missing Socks Saga
I am sure I am not the first person to write about the missing-sock phenomenon, but today we have freezing rain here and there is no incentive to go out, so, things like laundry are on my mind.
While putting away the latest dry laundry, I found of course, several single, unpaired socks.
So, what actually happens to those missing socks? This seems to be a mystery with no solution.
We even have a box where odd socks are kept in the hopes of one day finding missing ones. We rarely - if ever - find any.
Do these socks grab a knapsack and head out for adventure?
Do they somehow manage to get out of the washing machine and go down the drain?
Is there an underground sock saving network that helps them to escape to a sock haven?
This remains a mystery to me and countless others.
Can anyone help?
