Since I moved to Crete — the largest Greek island — last summer with the whole family, I have enjoyed each day the beautiful sight of the mountains: the Lefka Ori. It is the first highest massif of Crete, with fifty peaks higher than 2.000 meters.

Lefka Ori means ‘White Mountains’ as you see in the photos. But its white aspect remains the whole year because of the rocks and the height.

As soon as I see a light, an effect, or a color that moves me, I get out my camera (never far away) to immortalize it. It is when the framing work becomes important because, with the many electric wires all around, it’s not as easy to frame as I would have liked. Sometimes, I use a little originality by climbing on anything I can find on the terrace to better frame the detail I want to photograph.

Even if I enjoy a lot the splendid show the Lefka Ori offers me every day, I can’t help dreaming of taking a long hike there. With small children, it’s difficult, especially as the infrastructure is very limited up there (and it’s a good thing for the happiness of nature lovers). The day…
