A thunderstorm banishes the heat; life returns to normal

The misery of super-hot days, convincing proof of global warming, ended this afternoon with a brief but violent thunderstorm.

The heat has been unbearable here. I hesitate to let my dog walk on the pavement. The mosquitos are out, in droves. The sun has been too bright. The wind, non-existent.
