This butterfly is possibly one of the best known in the UK and it can be found throughout the British Isles.

Numbers are sadly in decline. Growing nectar-rich plants such as this Comfrey will encourage it into your garden.

Butterflies on the wing are one of my favourite summer experiences, the colours and their fluttering flight always make me smile.
