Sunsets: Kitsch or Art?

Sunsets happen, they are unavoidable. The question is, do they deserve to be photographed?

I try to differentiate between “beautiful subjects” and “beautiful photos” and maybe that’s why I avoid scenes and subjects that feel worn out, like an ancient pair of slippers. Yeah, it’s “nice” but good lord, how many Terabytes of Sunset Photos does humanity really need?
