The Falling Leaves …
Drift past our window
We have been having a rather odd October and November here. The temperatures have been up and down like a Yo Yo and the trees have not been following their normal fall patterns of leaf colour and leaf fall.
Our Kanzan Japanese Cherry, which is just outside our kitchen window, has been obstinately refusing to change colour. Finally on November 9, we woke up to this beautiful deep gold tree. Luckily, I thought to rush out and photograph it around noon, when the sun was at its best.
It was a really good thing that I did, because today (November 10) as we were having breakfast, I noticed a positive shower of golden leaves coming down outside the window, when I looked at the ground, there were most of the golden leaves from the Cherry, in a thick carpet.
So, around noon, once again I grabbed the camera and took photos of the now bare Kanzan and the fallen leaves.
