Waddesdon Manor is a grand stately home in Buckinghamshire, England. It was built by Baron Ferdinand De Rothschild as a place to show off his collections of art, sculpture, and furniture. He held weekend parties at the Manor, and it was visited by Queen Victoria in 1890.

Today, it’s open to the public, and for Christmas this year, they have an incredible Winter Light Trail. We go to take a look!

The experience begins with the Christmas market, open until 23rd December. It’s a glorious affair, with dozens of chalets and seasonal gifts. Christmas cheese is our favourite.

After perusing the stalls, we head off to see ‘The Illuminated River — Bridges Boats and Beyond’ exhibit. It’s a trail of lanterns made by local children. They’ve created illuminated images of London using crepe paper, and there are trees in legwarmers!
