One of the most beautiful buildings in Chicago, inside and out.
It also has an interesting history and more than one famous architect has participated in its design and structure.
I won’t go into all the history and details here but it’s worth a read on their website.

You can get lost in the details. The gold accents, characters and birds are hidden in plain sight and all the patterns, are everywhere.
We always seem to think of mirrors, windows and water for reflections. The reality is there are so many other surfaces that reflect and with the differences in textures or colors they create a different look.
The columns at the Rookery Building are a beautiful polished colored granite. Works for me!
