The concrete and clay beneath my feet.

I was born in New York City and have lived here 40+ of my 69 years.
Approximations: 14600 days x 5000 steps = 73,000,000 NYC steps!

That’s about 36,500 miles I’ve walked here in this city.
One and a half times around the planet!

I really did not place that in the road.

Somethin’ tells me it’s all happening at the zoo.

Walking around the city remains one of my very favorite activities — feeding my Eye for Awe upon the smörgåsbord of objects and creatures that one can encounter here.

I moved back to New York City eleven years ago. Except for weeklong visits every year or two I had been gone for 20+ years, raising a family in Vermont.
Now, my kids grown, I wanted a chance for one more life cycle.

Puddles = magic mirrors.

In this reincarnation, my perspective was again refreshed. In ways I had not given deep attention to…
