……how the h@ll….pic, stress and problem by and for Erik Smith.

It might seem like trucking is always joyfull and tra-lala… Hanging around a bit in other countries, doing not much else than sit on your ass and look through a window….

Darn—these huge paper rolls weigh a 1000 pound each. And they were packed bad to start with, but that doesn’t really matter right now, does it?!

Shhhhhhiiiitttttt.

Sigh.

Dammit…. I need some help with this.…

Could you please just….

…Ow, c’mon now , you can’t walk away from this…! You wanted to find out more about truckers life- well; eat your heart out! This doesn’t happen often, but if it does—deal with it.

No worries—we’ll fix this. We have to ‘cuz the forklift cannot unload the cargo tommorrow if the pallets are turned over in angle like this….Just use our smarts and we’ll be alright.

pic and confidence that it’ll somehow get ok by Erik Smith

Hey, where y’re goi…. ??!

O, no ya don’t… Get back here…..

Besides- that path was a dead-end. There’s no escape, but then again; there’s no need to…Take a breath, really—we’ll fix it. Go on—put on them gloves, start opening the curtain sides and the backdoors, I’ll grab us some lashes.

One for me and one for you

Ya see—at first I thought we’d push them back. But that’s a 1000 pound each times 4 rolls/4000 pounds! We couldn’t even do that with all the usual Medium suspects.

So, I attached the lashes on the bottom of the top pallet, but than on the side you don’t see here. Yes, you can start to lash now. Gently… we’ll tip the entire structure slowly back by lashing the ropes tighter and tighter. Each one at a time.

Careful now, if it goes too fast it’ll slide towards the other side. That’s where you and I stand. Do the math; 4000 pounds times the speed of a feet an hour is…uuhm..still more than we can catch if it comes crashing down! Gravity sucks! And I don’t want you to get hurt… Yes, I took measures; the structure is loosely secured. If it tips over towards us, there’s a third rope. It won’t hold, but it’ll give some time to walk aside.

Well done! Almost finished.

See??!! I told you so! Well done, Superwoman! And thanks for helping me out. If you could just grab the other lashes, I’d be greatful.

We’ll secure the d@amn piece of….whatever so it’ll hold untill we reach the destination. Forget about the boxes—they’re strong enough and tommorow we’ll break it down on two pallets.

DONE!
