Viewed from the “downtown” bridge, bordered by beautiful weeping willows, bullrushes and waterlilies, the calm waters of the Kemptville Creek present an idyllic scene.

A little farther upstream we were recently delighted to discover a public swimming hole. We’d been looking for a place for Molesley to do some water therapy, since his rear driverside leg is very weak after two knee surgeries. Thankfully, from the first time he saw a lake as a pup, Moles loved water. So can hardly wait for his daily swim in the creek.

Allan helps Molesley float on his back during an exercise break.

Trouser, on the other hand, is a bit more reluctant. He likes to puddle around in the shallow water near the shore, but until today he was adamant about going but no deeper.

Eek—that water’s way too deep for me!

This morning, though, he surprised us all. The ball got thrown way out into the middle of the creek—and Trouser plunged right in and went after it! Turns out, he’s an even better swimmer than his older brother. Trouser the water baby!

Waterbaby!
Our two boys racing for the ball.
