We have so many thoughts in our mind each day. Do they reflect our true being or someone trying to fit in? Do they make us feel unworthy or loved? Do they fuel hope or hopelessness? Do those thoughts compare themselves to others or are they self-motivated?

According to research, conservatively speaking, we spend 1 hour a day, at the least, on negative or unproductive thinking. That is 365 hours over a year, which is about 9 work weeks. Imagine that!

A simple shift in your thoughts from negative to positive can make a huge difference to the quality of our day. I’m not saying, let’s all live in la-la land, in some happy bubble all the time.

A bubble in la-la land!

All I am urging you to do is to become aware.

The first way to fix any problem is awareness.

Simply notice what is going on, so you can pinpoint it, and know what you want to change. Many of us feel like our minds are these endless chatterboxes with no pause, mute, or switch off. Our lives don’t have to be lived this way. Start to be mindful of your thoughts. If something negative comes up, notice it and reflect on it, before letting it go. Flip your viewpoint if you tend to focus on negative thinking patterns. Ask yourself, what’s the opposite of that? What’s the positive of that negative?

Think of this as taking inventory of your thoughts, so you can really get a grasp of what goes on in that head of yours every day.

“Your mind is a garden, your thoughts are the seeds, you can grow flowers, or you can grow weeds.”

Grow happy thoughts!

Your thoughts matter. Choose good ones.

What works for you when trying to be more positive? Let me know.
