Out With The Old, In With The New

Since launching Next-Gen SLAs earlier this year, we’ve been working around the clock to ensure that it’s full of features that meet the needs of our customers. We even hosted a webinar to showcase the new changes to Time to SLA customers and answer their questions, which have also shaped our development roadmap.

The response so far has been great with many of you making the move to Next-Gen. We’re eager to get all of you onto this new and improved way of managing service level agreements within Jira, with nobody left behind. So, it’s with this in mind that we have decided to gradually phase out all legacy SLAs and move them to Next-Gen by the end of June 2021.

It’s out with the old and in with the new for Time to SLA.

We know that moving home can be hard work, so we’ve created a brand new and free migration tool to make the process seamless. Just think of it as your personal removal service that’s taking you from where you are now to an even better destination, whilst you just sit back and relax. This journey will happen in three phases…

Phase 1: By the end of April 2021

All Time to SLA users will be able to use the migration tool to move their legacy SLAs to Next-Gen. Simply head to the SLA Configurations page and click on the new “Migrate Legacy SLAs” button to get started.

The Migrate Legacy SLAs button will be available on the SLA Configurations page by the end of April 2021.

Phase 2: By the end of May 2021

Legacy SLAs will no longer be supported and we’ll continue to encourage users to migrate their legacy SLAs using the tool.

Phase 3: By the end of June 2021

All remaining legacy SLAs will be automatically migrated to Next-Gen SLAs without any action needed from users.

The Migration Process

Migrating your SLAs is as easy as 1, 2, 3 — with three simple steps.

Step 1

Click on the “Migrate Legacy SLAs” button on the SLA Configurations page. You’ll then be asked to select the legacy SLAs that you would like to migrate to Next-Gen. To migrate all of your SLAs, simply click on the toggle button.

The migration tool gives you the option to migrate all legacy SLAs or a select few.

If you only want to migrate a select few SLAs to Next-Gen, then do not click on the toggle button. That way you’ll be able to choose the relevant SLAs from the selection box.

You have the option to select exactly which legacy SLAs you would like to migrate to Next-Gen.

Step 2

When you click on the “next” button, the migration tool will start moving your selected legacy SLAs to Next-Gen. Simply sit back and watch the progress on screen or go and make yourself a cup of coffee. The migration tool has everything under control!

The SLA migration tool does all of the heavy lifting, so that you don’t have to.

Step 3

The migration is complete… See, we told you it was easy!

A completed migration.

You will now be able to see your legacy SLAs within Next-Gen and start using the powerful tools in this Time to SLA release.

The move is complete and you’re ready to get started with Next-Gen SLAs.
