First email
I got stressed out initially that I have to find a thesis advisor in NYC. Because honestly I dont know anyone in that much. But fortunately, I meet tine she is one of the alumni at SVA Christmas party. She talked to me about the app called Urban Archive. So I started using that app. it was awesome.
Then I got an idea, I researched the people e behind thee urban Archive and found out Samantha Addeo. I am fascinated by her knowledge on urban n plan the ring and cities, so I decided to write a detailed email, that I am good at.
Wait for two days.
Then one morning I got a reply from Sam, she is e3xicted about the project and wanted to meet in person.
We meet on next Wednesday, she is just awesome and talked a lot. So I decided to work with her.
I am so lucky that I sent an email to only one person and I got the best person. So for next year students, my advice w, ould be don’t send email to everyone, pick a person super specific to your topic and look their expertise in the field that is a designer.
First, meet on Wednesday:
It was freezing that day, like -12 I think.
So I went to her with my presentation printed so that I didn’t need to waste time login and scroll through slides.
Then we almost spend like 1 hour discussing scoping the project. The main takeaways from the discussion were I released my focus want to give users a location bu tI have focused on other things.
After the discussion, I am super focused and going to work on the three main features of my app
See you later!
