The SnapTravel team is fortunate enough to work at the intersection of the two industries that most connect us globally — tech and travel. With an international team spanning 3 continents (North America, Europe and Asia), this means that we are given exposure to new countries, cultures, customs and ways of life. It also means that we are all deeply affected by some of the challenges faced by those around the world.

In the past few weeks, the Philippines has been the victim of multiple tropical storms, affecting 786,155 people across the country. With these tropical storms often come torrential downpours of rain and, ultimately, disastrous flooding. Many in the province of Mindoro, home to one of SnapTravel’s two offices, have been left without housing, food, clothing and other basic necessities.

The local community has done their best to support one another through this tough time, providing care packages with basic necessities, including food and toiletries. This has helped thousands of families in the community get their lives back on track after the unfortunate events these last few weeks.

The SnapTravel team — dubbed the SnapTravel “Ninjas” — has also banded together to build and distribute relief kits with basic food staples for those in the Mindoro community.

It is in times like these that we are most reminded of our responsibility to come together to support those in need, wherever they are. Although the tropical storms have passed, communities in the Philippines still have a lot of work to do as they rebuild both their homes and their lives.

Whether you are an early-stage startup, an established tech company, a VC fund or an individual that cares and has the ability to help, we would encourage you to consider lending some support to those who need it:

If you are interested in helping but aren’t sure what the best way is to lend your support, please reach out to us at partner@snaptravel.com and we will put you in touch with our team on the ground in the Philippines.

Salamat po / Thank you!
