SND members can do just about anything; they can design, art direct, write, edit, illustrate, produce photos and videos. They animate, develop games, visualize data and write code. They can even tap their heads while rubbing their bellies. A diverse group of people with an equally diverse set of skills. But what about those who are still learning or refining these skills? I’m glad you asked. You did ask that, right? Students, this one’s for you.

Our goal is to make your experience at SND unique and to provide valuable information that is aligned with your academic and professional needs. Want to make some lasting connections? Find someone to guide you along the way? Here, you will read about the experiences of fellow students and connect with potential mentors. You will find exciting opportunities that can help you grow as a visual journalist, to innovate and to thrive in the ever-changing landscape of news production, consumption and design.

I’m excited to launch SNDCampus alongside Membership Director Aviva Loeb and SNDCampus editor Nicole Zhu. None of this would exist without our first lineup of student bloggers, our founding class, so to speak: the multi-talented Chloe Meister, Clare Ramirez and Stephanie Hays, who have shown an endless amount of effort and dedication in bringing this idea to fruition. I am honored to share this vision and mission with them.

We want to hear from you! Want to write for the blog, pitch a story, or just ask a question? Feel free to reach out to me at gmellae@gmail.com.
