Greetings to the Snip community!

In July the team has been rapidly releasing features to make the product more compelling and increase user engagement, including subheadlines, improved mobile apps, user nudges on the website, and more. A key effort is developing the Topics feature, which will allow users to subscribe to a specific topic that they feel especially passionate about. By the end of August, we aim to have at least 1,000 people subscribed to our various topics.

Content and Usage
In July we launched the subheadlines feature, which adds a short summary of the story to someone who isn’t interested in reading more, and now it appears by default on the website and in the mobile apps. The subheadlines allow for content which is more convenient and easily consumable and therefore appeals to a larger audience.

Our next step is to provide 100% in-depth coverage on specific topics, with both news snippets that keep you posted and Explained snippets that help you understand the news. In August, we will ship at least 5 topics which will be fully covered.

Mobile Apps and Website
In July we synced the apps and the website to include the subheadline feature and made the voting more prominent on the website. We’ve already noticed an uptick in the percentage of users who are voting and expect that to increase over time. Our weekly newsletter is enjoying a high open rate and low unsubscribe rates, signaling that users value our content and the newsletter format.

Using and trading SNIP
Qryptos is still the primary platform for SNIP trading, with users enjoying robust trading on an exchange which is rising in prominence. We still plan to add an additional exchange in H2 2018, as well as list on Bancor.

As always, our top priority is not exchange listings but increasing usage of the Snip product, which will increase usage of the SNIP token.

Hiring
Our employee headcount stayed constant in July. The current size of the tech team allows us to rapidly iterate on the product and quickly add features to the apps and website. In August, we plan to hire an in-house editor to lead the content efforts and allow us to scale up the quality and quantity of the content on the platform. We’re always on the lookout for great people. If you’re a talented content editor, a star engineer, or a great marketing & community lead, we’re hiring! Contact us at jobs@snip.today.

In sum, in July we made the platform “stickier” and more enjoyable and in August we’ll capitalize on the new features with the launch of Topics. We’re very excited to help people follow and understand the things they care about. We will continue to update and are happy to hear feedback from the community.
